Why Microneedle When You Can Morpheus8?

Microneedling was first performed right after the turn of the last century. A lot has changed and progressed since then, and those innovations keep coming. Morpheus8 is often called the latest iteration of microneedling and it’s available at Parson Skin Center. It’s known for being more effective than any other type of microneedling, stimulating collagen in the skin’s adipose tissue. It was designed by Mode Aesthetics, which is a leader in radiofrequency (RF) energy technology. Currently, it’s the only treatment that combines RF with traditional microneedling approaches. By itself, microneedling kick-starts collagen production through creating controlled micro-traumas in the skin—but it has its limits (literally). Morpheus8 does the same thing, but while delivering RF energy and going deeper than any other microneedling device. It sends RF energy about 4mm deep into the skin, seriously stimulating collagen and elastin production.

Morpheus8 can help with some of the most common skin conditions and concerns. It reduces sagging and jowling, addresses uneven skin tone and texture, lightens acne scars, reverses sun damage, helps pores look smaller, minimizes lines and creases, and can even tackle excess fat and stretch marks. Morpheus8 is safe to use on men and women of any skin tone, although those with open lesions should wait until the skin is closed and healed before considering any minimally-invasive treatment.

How to Use Morpheus8

Morpheus8 is already a hybrid treatment, so it’s a fantastic option by itself (many celebs, such as Victoria Beckham, agree). However, you can also use it as a “bridge procedure” to help bridge the gap between it and more expensive procedures, providing clients with less downtime and risks. You can also use it to delay more aggressive options, like a facelift. Many people in their 30s and 40s aren’t quite ready for intense procedures like surgery, but don’t just want to sit around and wait. They want effective, safe solutions with real results and that’s what Morpheus8 can provide. Plus, since you only need it every six months on average (unlike traditional microneedling, which is monthly), it’s easy to fit into busy schedules.

It’s also great as a combined procedure. You can pair it with a HydraFacial, other in-office facial, or use it to complement chemical peels, Botox, or fillers. Some complementary procedures may be performed during the same appointment, such as fillers, while others will require separate appointments (like a medium-depth peel). Remember that Morpheus8 is considered minimally invasive because it does use needles and, as such, is going to affect the skin more so than a non-invasive treatment. It’s all about striking the right balance for your skin during your appointment time.

Where and How to Use Morpheus8

You can use Morpheus8 anywhere that you want collagen induction. The most common areas are the lower part of the face and the neck, the same places a facelift treats. It can be a bit uncomfortable, so a local anesthetic is applied right before your treatment to optimize comfort. Once the skin is numb, treatment begins with a handheld device. The applicator tip has many tiny needles, all powered up with RF energy. The tip is placed against the skin for a few seconds while the RF energy is sent through the needles to the ideal depth. This process goes on until completion of the treatment. Unlike other microneedling devices that are more of a roller, Morpheus8 is more akin to a stamp.

You can’t really compare Morpheus8 to other microneedling techniques, though. Other microneedling needles go approximately 2mm into the skin, half the depth of Morpheus8. This, even without considering RF, is significant because it’s going to do a lot more to stimulate collagen. That RF just adds on to more tightening and toning. After your treatment, you’ll see some immediate results because it’s just so much stronger than microneedling. Typically, an initial series of 2 – 4 treatments is necessary for the best results followed by maintenance sessions. Full results will be seen 3 – 6 months after your final treatment.
