13 May Ultimate Power Couples for 2022
It’s rare that one type of treatment will give you ALL the results you want. That’s why Parson Skin Center is your go-to medical day spa, offering all of the best, safest, and most effective treatments. We’ll work together to customize a plan for your one-of-a-kind needs and goals. However, first let’s take a look at some of the most popular treatment pairings. Check out our gallery, too, to get a sneak peek of what you can expect with these power couples.
First up is Botox and fillers. They go together like Mother’s Day and brunch, like summer and swimsuits. They are both injectables, but do very different things. Botox and its counterparts (like Dysport) can be either a treatment or preventative technique to keep unwanted lines and wrinkles from forming. An injection affecting the muscles that cause wrinkles temporarily “freezes” these muscles for around six months.
Dermal fillers provide volume where it’s lost (or where there never was). Most fillers are made with a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid for immediate results. There are fillers for just about everywhere in the face as well as the top of the hands! Some of the most popular treatment sites are the lips, cheeks, jawline, under the eyes, and the temples. Fillers last 12 – 18 months on average.
A Perfect Pair
Next up are light chemical peels and dermaplaning. A light peel requires little to no downtime, and sometimes there isn’t even any actual peeling—but don’t worry, it’s still working even if you don’t notice any obvious flaking. Peels work by literally peeling away the top layer(s) of skin. This both stimulates collagen production and removes superficial imperfections like light brown spots. You get gorgeous, glowing skin with this treatment.
But what if you have some surface debris and peach fuzz that’s getting in the way of the peel doing its best work? That’s what Dermaplaning is for. This treatment uses a specialized scalpel to remove surface-area debris, including fuzz, for baby-smooth skin. Some people get Dermaplaning by itself, but pairing it with a light chemical peel takes the results to the next level. Both of these treatments are so gentle you can even get them monthly.
Two is Better than One
Finally, we have microneedling and the HydraFacial—a duo you don’t want to miss out on. Microneedling has been available for well over a century, though of course the technique and technology has much improved over the years. This is a form of collagen induction therapy that works by creating thousands of micro-channels in the skin that are invisible to the naked eye. This controlled trauma kick-starts collagen production, which means you won’t’ see results right away. It takes about four weeks for your skin to start to improve. Microneedling is best used as a routine treatment to sustain results.
However, a HydraFacial offers immediate satisfaction. It’s a three-in-one in-office facial that uses a “wet vac” to simultaneously exfoliate the skin, extract from pores, and drench the skin in medical-grade skin care products. Why would microneedling before a HydraFacial be so great? Because the micro-channels created during microneedling make it ideal for topicals to best get deep into the skin and do their job. Adding on Dermaplaning to microneedling and a HydraFacial is also an option for the trifecta of treatments.
