18 Jul Plastic Surgery Options Before and After Pregnancy
If plastic surgery – and pregnancy – have both been on your mind lately, you may not realize that you can only accomplish both with the right timing. There are some procedures – such as breast augmentation and tummy tucks – that should not be done while pregnant or right before you get pregnant, so you need to plan accordingly. Learn more about what types of work you can have done now and which types will have to wait.
Options Before Pregnancy
If pregnancy is five or more years down the road, then go ahead with the abdominoplasty and breast augmentation. However, there is a possibility that you might have to redo these procedures anyway after pregnancy. It’s a good idea to avoid the stomach and breasts for now, which are the body parts most affected during pregnancy.
If you must get some plastic surgery done now, but are still trying to get pregnant, procedures that involve the face are a good choice. Botox, fillers and medispa treatments such as hair removal and facials won’t affect your pregnancy and ability to nurse.
Options After Pregnancy
The world of plastic surgery opens up to you after giving birth. Once you are done nursing, the sky’s the limit. Tummy tucks, Mommy Makeovers, breast lifts and reductions are all common procedures requested by new mothers. Medispa treatments and surgeries that involve the face – such as nose jobs are also good options to consider.
However, if you plan to become pregnant again soon, you might want to hold off on the tummy tuck or plastic surgery on the breasts. Otherwise, you might need a revision after giving birth.
