Laser hair reduction can dramatically decrease the amount of hair you grow, and can be applied to virtually any part of the body or face. We exclusively use the Candela GentleMax Pro laser, considered the gold standard in laser hair reduction. It’s suitable for use on large and small areas alike including the legs, back, bikini area, and face.
This laser also comes with two options, enabling it to treat nearly all skin types. This is not the case with other lasers. If you’ve been told that you’re not a good candidate for laser hair reduction because of your skin and/or hair color, there is a very good chance that the Candela GentleMax Pro will work for you. With a 755 nm option for skin types I – III and a 1064 nm option for skin types IV – VI, this laser really can do it all.

Both men and women spend an average of over one full month throughout their lives on hair removal, whether it’s shaving, waxing, or plucking. That’s more than 30 days of around the clock active efforts just to feel silky smooth.
Time is the most precious commodity we have—and routine hair removal is expensive whether you wax, shave, or sugar away hair. Laser hair reduction can dramatically decrease the amount of time you spend on hair removal. It’s so effective that many people find they can skip at-home hair removal for days, weeks, or even entirely.
It is important to note that laser hair reduction does not guarantee complete or lasting results. It is a treatment focused on reduction in hair growth, sometimes to a very impressive degree. However, everyone is different and will respond to laser hair reduction differently. Our hair growth also changes throughout the years and is dictated by a number of factors including genetics, diet, and hormones.
However, laser hair reduction is a quick and relatively painless method of drastically cutting down on hair growth and hair removal activities at home. Most people describe the sensation as feeling similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin, though some people don’t feel much of anything during treatment.
Laser hair removal is a safe and effective treatment at Parson Skin Center. Check out a few FAQs about the process. If you’d like to learn more about laser hair reduction or schedule your appointment, book your aesthetic treatment online today.

Skin tones, colors, or production of melanin can be measured via the Fitzpatrick scale. Skin type 1 is the fairest while skin type IV has the most melanin. The Fitzpatrick scale ranges from “pale white skin blue/green eyes, blond hair” to “dark brown or black skin.” It’s not a perfect scale, but it is a means of identifying which tools are best for you. This laser is a fantastic tool for laser hair reduction because everyone is a great candidate for it. Gone are the days when only those with so-called pale skin and brown hair were suited for laser hair reduction.
You will see laser hair reduction results immediately, but keep in mind that hair grows in cycles. There does need to be hair present in order for it to be treated, which means you’ll really start to see results in 4 – 6 months with routine laser hair reduction treatments because at that point the hair will have completed a full growth cycle.
That depends on the amount of hair you have, your unique hair growth cycle, and the kind of results you want. However, about six treatments are the recommended minimum. Many clients book routine appointments every few weeks and consider it an ongoing maintenance procedure.
