06 May Aesthetic Society’s 2012 Procedural Statistics
The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery recently published their 16th annual multi-specialty Procedural Statistics. They found that Americans spent over $11 billion on cosmetic procedures during 2012. Of that total almost $7 billion was spent on surgical procedures. This represented a 6 percent increase over the previous year.

Astonishingly, over 10 million cosmetic surgical and non-surgical procedures were performed in the United States over the past year. Additionally, the most popular non-surgical procedure was Botox injections (using either Botox or Dysport). Non-surgical procedures account for 83% of the total number of procedures performed.
