4 Injectables You’re Going to Love

“Injectables” are any minimally invasive treatment that requires a needle to “inject” the product into the body or skin. At Parson Skin Center, we offer the most effective, safest, and popular injectables so that you can take control of your aesthetic and/or turn back the clock with little to no downtime. Today’s injectables are so advanced that they can be used for pre-juvenation purposes or even as an alternative (or complement!) to cosmetic surgery. As hot girl/guy summer begins to die down, it’s time to prep for cuffing season. Here are four injectables that can help you achieve the look you want quickly, easily, and with virtually no recovery period:

Botox

No injectable list is complete without Botox. This is the original neuromodulator that can “freeze” the muscles that cause unwanted furrowing, lines, and wrinkles. Botox is a fantastic product that has withstood the test of time, but when it comes to injectables, it’s not just about product—the skill of the injector is just as important. Even though Botox results are temporary, lasting up to six months on average depending on units and treatment site, nobody wants subpar results for half a year. Parson Skin Center is a medical day spa where only expert injectors work with you.

Botox can be used as a pre-juvenation treatment to “train” muscles not to create wrinkles in the first place. Of course, it can also be used to tame those wrinkles, too, making it popular for men and women of all ages. Then there are the “other” Botox uses such as stopping excessive sweating, preventing and stopping migraines, and even using it as a “lip flip” to flip that upper lip outward, increasing fullness and putting an end to gummy smiles. Is there anything Botox can’t do? Well, yes.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers literally “fill up” areas on the face and even tops of the hands, restoring volume that has been lost over the years or providing volume where you always wanted it. A lip flip with Botox doesn’t actually create volume in the upper lip—it just creates the appearance of it. Most clients who are good candidates for a lip flip are more interested in reducing gumminess rather than creating a full, voluptuous pout. Most dermal fillers are made with synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA), so results are immediate. HA fillers can last anywhere from 6 – 18 months, so you can try out a new look or go longer-term with results you know you’ll love.

Sculptra

Sculptra is sometimes consider a “booster” rather than a filler, though it is also considered part of the filler family. Sculptra is a form of collagen induction therapy, so it is not made with HA and results are not immediate. Instead, this booster is for those who want more subtle, longer-lasting results—and who are willing to wait for them. The results from Sculptra appear slowly in the weeks and months following the injection. Similar to HA fillers, it can also be used virtually anywhere you want volume, but the tops of the hands are particularly popular. After all, why should you let your hands give away your age?

Kybella

Kybella is comprised of synthetic deoxycholic acid, the body’s natural fat burner. It is exclusively used to get rid of double chins by dissolving the fat that causes it. Instead of a single needle, Kybella technology uses a “stamp” so that several injections are administered at once during each appointment. A conservative approach is a must with Kybella, because if you dissolve too much fat in this area you can’t get it back—and the right amount of fat is needed for an ideal aesthetic. Most clients need 4 – 6 sessions spaced one month apart for optimal results, but you’ll start to see some great changes after just one treatment.
